Project Framework:
iCan for Kids is a non-for-profit fighting the food insecurity crisis in Alberta. This crisis has never been a hunger or scarcity problem, but a deeply rooted insufficient income problem. These deep misconceptions about cause, and effect may be held by their significant donors, who largely keep the iCan mission going.
The mission I had as a student was to highlight iCan's unique model while illustrating the power premium donors hold in the form of a case for support.

My Decisions:
With corporate donations making upwards of 52% of all donations, I sought to make processing mass financial information easier and a more emotional experience.
The title was intended to be a bit arresting and disarming to the user. It should peak curiosity and create the question, “What about food insecurity exactly do we need to audit?”
This case for support became unique because it lays out information and analyzes it similarly to how an audit would. It's authoritative, clear, and structured. In this case, it's a narrative structure.

The project quickly went beyond a piece of academic design excellence, but something much bigger than me.
It became a way to help someone who helps people.
